I suffered from migraine headaches since I was five years old and was diagnosed in Feb. 09 with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma of the breast. I have also read that if you breast feed your children, it reduces breast cancer and it you exercise daily, I have done both, still got it. No family history of breast cancer either.

I think articles like this do a disservice to women. It tends to create a false reassurance that if you get migraine headaches you are on the safe side of not developing or worse, curing breast cancer. Women need to be encouraged to get their mammograms and take care of their health, not the other way around.

And if you think migraines are "helpful" in any way shape or form to a person's health, think again.

Here's an article that suggest: "Women who suffer from migraines with aura are more likely to have a stroke or heart attack than those who do not experience such headaches, and the association varies with migraine frequency, study results suggest..."

Bottome line, check yourself out and go to your doctors.

Oh how I wish this were always true. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer and have been experiencing severe migraines that are related to my periods for at least 14 years. For the sake of your health, don't be fooled into thinking that because you don't have a family history of breast cancer, or don't smoke, or don't have migraines etc. that breast cancer can't happen to you. It can and 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed. Get a mammogram on a yearly basis. It could make a huge difference in your treatment options. My cancer would not have been found at this early stage, had it not been for a routine mammogram.
