Preventing and Fighting Against Prostate Cancer – Why Your Dietary Modification is Necessary?
A recent review that was published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics suggests that adopting a diet that is low in fat, contains less red meat and includes more fruits and vegetables is beneficial to both prevent prostate cancer and aid the recovery of those being treated for the disease.
Authors K.Chapman and W.L. Ma conducted an extensive, evidence based review of the dietary recommendations made for the prevention of prostate cancer as well as the nutritional habits of patients being actively treated for the disease.
They found that a diet that was low in fat, limited the consumption of red meat and dairy products and included a high level of fruit and vegetable consumption may indeed be helpful in not only preventing prostate cancer but also for helping those diagnosed with disease fight it more effectively.
During the course of their observations Chapman and Ma found tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower were especially effective, as well as the regular consumption of green tea and Vitamin E and selenium.
Conversely the studies authors found that in men whose diets contained higher amounts of processed or charcoaled meat and higher amounts of fat and dairy products were at greater risk for developing prostate cancer.
In conclusion, the authors state, although their review is not conclusive their results and observations do suggest that dietary modification can have a beneficial effect for both the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer.

As a health conscious individual, I agreed with the authors reviews. We should also consume fruits and vegetables of various color.
