Guantanamo Bay Detainees
Guantanamo Bay detainees site should be Open or Closed: What you want?
We need to keep the Guantanamo Bay detainees site open. The Senate, in a rare flash of wisdom, told Mr. Obama that he will not get the money. 80 millions of dollars are needed to close Gitmo and transfer the prisoners to the US. The question is very simple and has not yet been clearly answered by this administration. What is he plan for the detainees and terrorists that are held there? The Republicans have found a soft site in the belly of the Democrats who thought, actually did not think at all, that this was a non-issue. Whoa there! Americans let their representatives know quite quickly that this is an issue. We don’t want them here. Keep Gitmo open. It’s the only real option.
The question is not whether or not we can make a prison that will keep them, as some on TV seem to think. We do need to be concerned about another attack to free them if held here. That is obvious but a minor concern I think. The real problem occurs once these people get here. The ACLU, some in Congress and our liberal courts want to give them rights like the citizens they want to kill. Once that happens, there will be no trial as the intelligence community will shy away from prosecution if significant details need be given out. Obama wants to make some changes in the trial procedures by eliminating hear say evidence. This does nothing help protect the intelligence agencies and their people and how they do their work. Obama and he Democrats have a serious problem on their hands. Under the present methods at work, we cannot bring them here for trial. The refusal of the Senate will delay the handling of the terrorists and Gitmo will stay open.
We have only found 2 countries to take back any of these people: two detainees may go back to France and Britain. That’s all folks. Nobody else wants them except Yemen. Of those still held, about thirty will get released and eighty go to some sort of trial. But where will that be if not Gitmo? It’s the only place we can protect our intelligence apparatus and still put the guilty terrorist in jail.
Finally, Senator Reed and his Democratic colleagues see the light. They, like the people they represent, want to see a full plan outlining what will happen. Now, no state wants them in their territory. The Democratic senator of California said no thanks, as did the Big Sky state and others. Only Johnstown, Pa. said ok. They could use the jobs.

Well. . I have a solution. Put them all in one yard, and supply with lots of booze, the problem would soon be a “DEAD ISSUE” Only 1 or 2 would be left to send to trial. Then make Gitmo into a U S luxury resort. Make the Cubans jealous !
