What if there were no Newspapers in the World?

With the fastest means of transport and travel, the world has now become small. One can hardly deny the significance of the means of communication in the changed situation. Newspaper is a powerful source of communication between the government and people of a country. If there were no newspapers, some unexpected consequences would follow.

The communication gap between the government and people would widen. A state of total blackout would emerge. People would become totally ignorant of what is happening around them. Society will lapse into the dark ages of medievalism.

Business transactions at national and international levels would come to a standstill. The information about day-to-day prices, share markets and the general economic trends, would not reach the common people and as such, gossips and rumors would run wild everywhere. It will lead to an atmosphere of doubt and distrust.

People would be deprived of several benefits, which they could otherwise avail through matrimonial, employment and accommodation columns. Just as the natural elements are necessary for human beings, in same way, newspapers are necessary for the survival of a civilised society.

Without it, our life would become a river without water. So if there were no newspapers in the world is frightening and inconceivable.
